JOKER

WEEEEEEEEE
show me the way to go home i'm tired and I want to go to bed
Joker didn’t exactly care for Boulder City. She’d never liked coming here, but she did none the less. Nothing great was happening; Joker stopped in because it was safe territory on the way back to Red Mile. She needed some gas for the truck, just to make sure she could make it back without any trouble. Nothing sucked worse than being a couple miles short on gas and having to not only walk the rest of the way, but to walk all the way back out to put gas in the tank.

It was getting late though, and Joker was starting to run on empty. Not so much that she was lagging, but there in the back of her mind she could feel the pull of sleep starting to nag at her. Joker didn’t sleep well most nights to begin with, so when the need struck it usually wasn’t wise to ignore it, but there was still potential fun to be had. Joker’s undeniable problem of not wanting to miss anything ever.

She wandered in the direction of an inn that rented out rooms by the night, and not just the hour, her truck safe and sound. It was in a Savage compound she didn’t feel particularly welcome in as a person, but they were obligated to keep the truck for her nonetheless because she was family. She ignored the people selling their wares, in most cases themselves, not bothering to answer them yes or no. Well no. It was always no. Joker wasn’t a whore, and she didn’t pay for them either. If she couldn’t get laid on her own merit then she didn’t get laid. She wasn't very upset by it though.

Her eyes were flitting from building to building, person to person… when it happened…

At first she wasn’t consciously aware of why her heart had stopped, and consequently the rest of her body. Then it clicked though as she found the face in the crowd again. His face.

Osiris.

She remembered him.

Of course she remembered him.

Ducking through the crowd Joker hoped she wasn’t too obvious before this. She walked between people closer to the stands that started to pop up. The few actual goods there were to be sold in Boulder here and there. Some food. Some other things. She wasn’t interested though. She couldn't help but watch the large man ten or so feet away. Like how one might watch bees after getting stung by one. Being fascinated by what the thing that hurt you…

Left you behind…

Joker needed to know what he was doing here…

She had to know.

So she followed behind him as carefully as she could, but she felt like she was vibrating because of all all the adrenaline that flooded her system. It was probably made worse by being tired just moments before like everything under her skin was buzzing.

It’s probably because Joker really wanted to run. She just couldn’t make herself flee yet. Not just yet. It would come. She could feel it, but first she wanted to see him. She’d wanted to play with him so badly before, the want wasn’t completely gone just yet. It didn't mean she wanted to be seen just yet.

We can dance if we want to We can leave your friends behind 'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance Well they're, no friends of mine
we can go where we want to A place that they will never find And we can act like we come from out of this world And leave the real one far behind
"Who the Fuck do you think I am?! I'm not one of the pathetic street merchants trying to peddle day to day just to get by. I work for the fucking Cartel, and you try to pull another fast one on me you wont be returning home to that pretty little family of yours Sam." Osiris was a large man, looking at the fat sweating mess of a man in front of him. watching as Sam's eyes went wide and his jaw dropped at the mention of his family. Osiris simply gave one of his devious smirks. "That's right Sammy Boy, We know about your family. So why don't we treat each other fairly okay?" Fairly, that word meant nothing here. But Osiris liked to use it in this new job of his, made his clients feel like they weren't getting ripped off, when usually they were. Sam nervously wiped the sweat from his brow and nodded "Y-yeah, sure thing Osiris. We'll do it your way then. We have a deal. S-Sorry for the trouble.." He muttered pathetically as he reached out a shaky sweaty hand. Osiris looked down at at the hand and raised an eyebrow before looking back up at him. "Good boy. We expect the money in a week... you'll have your goods after the money is delivered." Osiris said coldly then walked away leaving poor Sam with his hand still out stretched.

Osiris was an Asshole. He was to a lot of people, not because he wanted to be, but because he needed to be for his job. But then again, even outside of work he wasn't the easiest person to get along with. Not unless he had a reason, or you earned his trust. Which these days was in short supply these days, not even all his gang had his trust at the moment. And he was sure he didn't have their trust yet. They would be stupid if he did.

As the large tan male walked through the busy markets he looked around calmly. Up until he started working with the cartel he avoided this place like the plague. Too many memories with his mother and sister when he was a child, he preferred not to visit this town and let those memories bring back the nightmares. But he had to work, right? But there was something much more important to deal with today. Sure Osiris had to meet with Sam, but there was someone Osiris was much more interested in seeing. The little white rabbit he had been chasing for a few months now. The little white rabbit that brought him hints of laughter and joy. Something he hadn't experienced since the death of his mother and sister. And he had heard rumors that this little white rabbit was going to be here today. So he made sure that he would be here at the same time. But of course, finding the little white rabbit in such a town was going to be easier said than done... Or so one would assume.

The little white rabbit was already in his sights, and she hadn't noticed him neither. Perfect. So he changed his route, walking through the crowd near the merchants, so her eyes would happen to fall upon him easier. It took a white, he made small circles around the out rim, walking slowly. Then he noticed her posture change,.. Bingo. His little white rabbit had fallen into his trap. So he continued to walk slowly, pretending not to notice her. Stopping and looking at a few merchant's good before moving on to the next one. He was interested to see what Joker would do now that she saw him. Last time he saw her she was asleep, she was so cute when she slept. The two of them had a very....exhausting.... night together, and the thing that made the most amount of sense was faking to kill her so his men would leave her alone and moving on. Allowing her to live her life in some sort of peace. Plus, could he really care about her? But she became a poison in his mind. Haunting him, and he knew he had to have her, to protect her. So he did. And now that she saw him, the next move was hers to make.

Joker has forgotten how to be sneaky apparently
show me the way to go home i'm tired and I want to go to bed
Joker kept after him as he moved from booth to booth. She frowned as he looked at this and that while she meandered around the crowd to keep him in her sights without just blatantly standing there and staring at him. Curiosity was her curse. She wanted to know what he was after. What he was looking for at so many different booths. When they had last met… met for the first time… he had definitely been a raider. If he wanted something he could take it in theory. Therefor she doubted he was stealing stuff. She stole because fighting wasn’t easy. Taking was.

Running was the easiest thing in the world even if she occasionally smoked when the opportunity presented itself. Joker could run like mutants were chasing her.

Why wasn’t she running now?

She inched herself closer and closer to him. She made her way to the last booth he’d been at. Glancing at him from the slightly closer vantage point. Joker’s heart was beating a mile a minute but she kept herself loose. Fluid. She mumbled a greeting as the person at the booth tried to engage her. Joker wasn’t having it though, she didn’t care about the guy trying to sell her something. Lucky for him she wasn’t interested in his stuff either, or something would surely be gone by now. Her mind was trying to jerk her body in so many different directions, though, that Joker was actually still for once.

Until she decidedly wasn’t and her body was doing the exact opposite of what she thought she was going to do. Instead of running away, which her rational mind told her was the smartest, and safest thing to do Joker walked over to the stand he was at instead.

She didn’t say anything though.

Joker looked at the things at the booth, for as long as she could she refused to look at him. She looked at the bobbles like every fiber of her being wasn’t aware of the man next to her. Like she just happened to walk up to the same booth as a man she’d met once in the desert… and… things.

Other things happened.

But she was just looking at the things on the stand… as far as anyone was concerned.

Maybe.

Her lower lip still got caught under the pressure of her canine tooth though. She couldn’t help it. Joker tried not to look at him. She wanted to wait him out, but she couldn’t. Faster than she would have liked she had to look at him. She turned her head just the smallest amount. She could have been looking at something in front of him on the table, but she glanced up at him instead. She had to see if he noticed her. Joker had to know if he recognized her, or if she’d just been some nameless, faceless, person to him that he just happened to corner once upon a time.

After that she’d have to decide what to do.

She’d have to decide if she would run or not.

Joker’s hands gripped at the hem of her shirt she was so nervous. She was nervous. She had to see. She had to know…

Joker just didn’t know what would feel worse. Him knowing who she was, or not remembering… Joker didn’t talk about it, but she remembered often. She hadn’t told anyone when she’d gone back to Red Mile still covered in blood. She’d gone to see a medic, whom she hadn’t said a word to, just got patched up from all the fighting. Listened to the chatter about how she looked like hell. Hid in the nest she called a bed for a couple of days, and then went on with life. Like nothing had happened…

But it had happened.

She couldn’t forget…

Everyone dies, but not everyone truly lives

Osiris

A game of cat and mouse begins.
we can go where we want to A place that they will never find And we can act like we come from out of this world And leave the real one far behind
Osiris's fingers rubbed over the smooth surface of a blade as he watched her from the corner of his eyes. It was interesting watching someone watching him. Usually in this situation it was two people plotting to kill each other, but this was different, this was a completely different game of cat and mouse. Only in this game, he was the cat, and she was the mouse who thought she was a cat. Though this little white rabbit of his was unpredictable. She could run through the crowd and jump on him, attacking with her fist or some hidden blade she was sure to have on her while cussing him out. Or she could run away, or she could just 'sneak' around for hours watching him. No matter what happened it would be interesting to watch.

As the girl began to move close, going to a booth it became harder to watch her because she would be able to notice him looking at her easier. So he would only glance when he knew it was safe. he made sure to keep her in a place he could see as he began to talk to the merchant about the blades. A merchant who was very eager for some business, though he had no intention of giving him any. He, after all, was in the same business after all, of dealing weapons, and these products were trash. Osiris gave small short answers, and asked small questions. But he stopped the conversation when his little white rabbit approached him silently and began browsing the wares as well. THIS....THIS WAS COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED!

What was she planning? what was she doing? was she testing him, was she just getting close enough so she could get a sue shot on him? was she trying to work up the courage to talk to him? did she even remember him? Maybe she forgot about him. Maybe he just seemed familiar and she just wanted a closer look to see if she could figure it out. So in this game of cat and mouse the move was his, she stood there awkwardly, fiddling with her shirt. Then she glance at him, she took an extra move. She was eager to look at him that much was clear. Though it didn't seem to obvious, he picked up on the cues easily.

But Osiris on the other hand, Osiris had plenty of self control. He simply looked down at the table, picking up a small blade that could be easily hidden. Running his fingers over it carefully and silently. He stood there for a while, he stood there so long he almost though he wouldn't acknowledged her himself. But then he spoke. His voice was strong, yet gentle. "This seems like a useful blade to have don't you think?" He asked randomly as he continued looking down at the blade, not at the girl he was talking to. "Too small to do any real damage in a fight...But you could hide it and use it say... if you get caught by raiders and they take all your weapons away and tie you up... "

To any other person this would seem like a completely random question. But to her, if she remembered him... this would be an instant nod to the way they met. A way of seeing if she remembered him and what she thought. As he finished the statement he glanced over at her and tilted his head. "What do you think?" He asked with a small coy smile.

that was on the outside, in the inside his heart was racing as he was now fully looking at her. The girl he met about a year ago, the girl he caught, talked to, fell for, slept with, and freed, leaving her to live her own life away from his doomed path. Now she was here in front of him, and he was freaking out on the inside. But not a living soul would ever know that.

There were so many possibilities, what was she going to do? She was so unpredictable, it was hard to tell. He tried to keep a wall around his heart, so if she left, or told him to die, or tried to kill him it wouldn't break his heart. He tried to tell himself that that would be the end and he would go back and find his old raiding gang. But he knew.... deep down he knew...

There was no going back...He was in love with her, and he would die protecting her.

She's the cutest mouse ever!
show me the way to go home i'm tired and I want to go to bed
When he asked her such a mundane question, not even looking at her, Joker was positive he either didn’t remember her or hadn’t seen her fully. Something in her started to sink, but then he continued and all ideas that he didn’t know her vanished. That wasn’t just some random question to her. It wasn’t just something he wanted to say aloud to someone to see if it was a plausible idea he could get away with in such a tight spot. No, it was a knock on the door it was so close to home. Emotions jumbled up inside her all pushing to be the first one acted upon.

Joker wasn’t exactly gaping like a fish, her mouth was at least closed, but she was staring at him like he’d just turned and stabbed her with that little blade. That’s how she felt at least. Like something about this moment should hurt, even if it didn’t.

“What do you think?”

He was looking at her, a smile playing across his lips that ruffled her feathers. She wanted to run so badly, but Joke couldn’t help but be angry at him. She couldn’t just run away when she was angry at him! “Oh yeah that would be a real useful weapon to have!” She couldn’t help but shout at him, no doubt startling the vender out of his wits considering the noise she heard of him tripping over something back there. “So useful in fact that it would work right up until you’re tackled to the ground by some fucker twice your size!” Joker was the kind to get worked up like this. What was out of character was not demonstrating how it could do real damage in a fight. Going right into his eye would do plenty of damage.

In fact she had a blade of similar size, though of better quality, on her person. She could do it. It would not be the first violent impulse that was acted out just because she was in a sour mood. Her fingers grazed another slightly longer blade in a sheath at her side, less noticeable then the monster of a machete across her back, but it’d make a person bleed all the same. Joker had many litter across her person. Some that people could see, others that people couldn’t.

However, her heart clenched at the thought of using it on him and her fear came tumbling forward like a wave on the beach. It was followed by another and another though, and she took a step back from him to relieve some of the nervous energy filling her. Why had she reacted like that?

She shouldn’t have admitted to anything.

She could have just pretended she didn’t know him, and that it had been a stupid question.

She could have pretended she didn’t know he was talking to her, and walked off.

Joker took another step back but she couldn’t quite bail yet. She wanted to run from him as much as she wanted to go back towards him. Joker pushed feelings down though, and ended up stuck. Her hand clutched the hilt of the blade at her side, but he probably wouldn’t know it was just to have something to hold on to. Joke was stuck but she could still feel the thrum of adrenaline under her skin ready to put force behind whatever she did next.

Tom and Jerry and got Sh!t on them!
we can go where we want to A place that they will never find And we can act like we come from out of this world And leave the real one far behind
His eye carefully grazed over expression as he changed his gaze to her. Watching as her face went from unamused to shocked. There hadn't been a better facial expression for the term 'deer in the headlights'. She sat stunned for a few moments before she suddenly erupted, and this caused him to raise his head slightly looking down at her with an amused look on his face as she shouted at him. Hearing the person tripping behind the counter a small chuckle left his lips.

Joker had a way with emotions, she wasn't the best around covering them up it seemed. At least not around him anyways. From her hatred of him, to talking his ears off, to the passionate.... Stuff that happened later. It seemed to Osiris that once you interacted with Joker you would know how she felt about you immediately. And Osiris liked that about her, he didn't have to worry about her stabbing him in the back. Though he did have to worry about her stabbing him in the face.

And from the way she was responding to him, she wasn't very happy with him. It seemed she didn't fully understand why he left her, or she did but she didn't care and was still pissed off at him. Looking down at him as he played with the blade idly between his fingers while watching her. Listening as she began screaming at him once more. Most people would try to snap some sense into her, or maybe scream back, or maybe even give up and walk away. But Osiris wasn't everybody. He had been thinking about her so long, he was just overwhelmed with joy to finally be standing in front of her, to be speaking to her, that she was even alive. Looking down at her he waited a few moments before speaking, picking his words carefully.

"Yea...I guess that might put a damper on things..." He spoke in a calm yet strong voice, his statement didn't say much. Especially saying their past, in fact it could be possible that Joker could think that he didn't actually remember her from this statement, but was just making small talk. And that's what he wanted. He wanted to see her reaction as he continued to tug at her. But don't get him wrong, he wasn't a cat just playing with his food because he wanted to, he was toying with her to see if she was really worth the chase, to see if this little mouse would prove worth his time and effort or if he should move on.

He turned away from her slightly and placed the blade back down carefully while looking around briefly before looking back at her. Now he spoke in a much softer voice, almost a whisper. Yet there was still a source of strength and confidence behind it. "But sometimes It's better when things don't go according to plan... Don't you think?...Maybe the person tackling you could end up saving your life..." There was a part of Osiris that wanted to tear up when he said this, but that boy had died a long time ago, along with his mother and sister. That emotional little boy wasn't coming back any time soon. Instead he simply shifted his weight onto his other foot and tilted his head to the side, sliding his hands into his pockets while flashing her small playful grin. The same grin he had given her a few times the night he met her.

It was odd, that he would give away everything he worked for, he would give up his dreams, work, and safety all for this one girl, one girl who he had spent one messed up night with. What was it about her that allured him so? Surly she was beautiful, and the night they had together was....fun... But that couldn't be enough to drive a man to such extents. And as the cat stood there waiting to see what the mouse's next move would be, his heart raced. He felt the pressure, This was his life now. Wither she accepted him or not, his life would be spent trying to protect this woman, to keep her safe. But could he succeed, he had failed so many times before after all....Was there any hope in this hell?

She's the cutest mouse ever!
show me the way to go home i'm tired and I want to go to bed
Joker’s flurry of emotions was only further riled up by his reaction to her. At this point after finally going off like a cherry bomb Joker couldn’t even think about him not knowing her. She knew exactly who he was, and so he had to know exactly who she was, and she was not pleased with him. He was right, while Joker was a trickster she was rather honest about it. About most things really. So if Joker was angry with someone they definitely knew it. They would know it and everyone who would listen would know about it too.

The trick was keeping an eye on her after that less you find yourself missing half your stash.

“Damn right it might put a damper on things!” Joker continued to shout at him, instantly rooted to her spot. All thoughts about running were, however temporarily, pushed aside. Her finger jabbed at him as though she were scolding a child. Really she was silently blaming him for being the reason it didn’t work… while she yelled at him over a hypothetical situation that actually happened. “You understating giant!”

What he said next though.

If looks could kill he’d be scorched to a little pile of cinders. If ever there was a time for flames to lick off of someone now would be the time. She was so angry her hair was practically standing on end.

Joker actually stormed right up to him, even if she was too short to get right in his face it didn’t stop her from trying. She probably looked as intimidating as a kitten compared to him, but Joker couldn’t stop herself. She was practically on her tip-toes trying to be taller than him even if that was never going to happen. Joker growled up at him, “No, no, no! See it’s not better! That’s why you have plans! So things go according to them!”

The last thing he said kept swirling around in her head though. She didn’t want to react, because that part didn’t make her angry, no those feeling felt a lot like hurt, but it all came flooding out anyway. Joker completely dropped the context that they weren’t talking about them shouting up at him, “And you don’t save people by abandoning them in the middle of the god damn desert! You didn’t save me! You left me behind!”

Joker’s hands actually flew up to cover her mouth, her eyes wide. She didn’t mean to say that. She didn’t mean it. She wanted to instantly yell that she took it back. That they needed to pretend she didn’t say anything. Knowing none of those things was going to work, that she couldn’t take it back, Joker felt like all the air was being sucked out of the space around her.

She did the only thing she felt she could.

She turned tail and ran.

Joker didn’t know where she was going, and she didn’t care. She ran full tilt just needing to get away from what she said. Like space would make it like it never happened. She could feel her machete jumping like her heart with each step. She just needed to get away.

Tom and Jerry and got Sh!t on them!
we can go where we want to A place that they will never find And we can act like we come from out of this world And leave the real one far behind
Looking down at the short female as she jabbed his chest with her finger roughly. Though it didn't bother him at all. He raied an eyebrow while looking at her, slowly looking around at the people who were staring at them. It wasn't rare for fighting to happen in the city, but this scene was a little...odd.... even for the end of the world. HE looked back down at her and couldn't help but to laugh as she called him an 'understanding giant'. What kind of insult was that? Understanding giant sounded more like a children's book than an insult. Then yet another shift of gears, stomping up to him as she tried to 'get in his face' he smiled softly. He wasn't trying to insult her or anything, but he couldn't help but to smile. She was too cute, even when she was pissed off at him and wanted to yell at him.

He shrugged his shoulders, as she talked about having plans. He could have stopped her right there. But he was sure she had more words to say, and he wanted her to let it all out. This was a game of cat and mouse after all, and he had to make sure to keep luring the mouse quickly into the right direction before scaring her off. He had set the trap, he had said that he saved her, how would she respond? Judging by the last time they talked, she didn't just let things go. She made big deals out small things, and big things turned into nuke

SNAP!

The trap had been sprung! There it was! She took his bait and fell right into his trap. Her emotions got the best of her and revealed her true intentions, thoughts, and feelings. She was upset. She was hurt. The 'hypothetical' argument was now in full blown 'Argument' and everyone around them knew it. Osiris's face straightened out as he looked down at her. He began to explain as she began to react. She covered her face, obvious that she had betrayed herself. He was happy that she did, now the mouse was in the trap and it was time to finish it off. Maybe it wasn't going to be as hard as he thought, maybe he would be able to explain himself and she would realize he was right and they would be able to live in this hell in love together or some shit like that....But nothing goes right in this hell hole.

Of course she wouldn't listen, she reacted instantly...Of course she had to run....Why did she have to run?

Osiris instantly ran after her, he was quick for a big guy. Not as quick as her, but he had a somewhat clear mind, apposed to her who's mind was probably racing, making it hard for her to make good decisions or to plan ahead. So Osiris took short cuts, jumping over a cart, leaving behind an angry merchant and customer threatening to cut off his toes and sell them so he couldn't run anymore. He ran behind a wall in a different direction, if she saw him run that way two things might happen, if she was able to think clearly she might know that the alley ways meet up, if not she might think that he had given up and ran away. Of course the first option was true.

Running down the alley way quickly the short cut gave him the time he needed. Coming out right as she was running by he ran into her. Throwing his large muscular arms around her and holding onto her as she was sure to thrash he quickly threw her over his shoulder and began to walk down the alley way. The mouse almost escaped, but now that he had her in his claws there was no getting away. He walked slowly down the alley way, remaining silent and taking what ever abuse she was throwing at him, verbal or physical. He walked for a few minutes before coming to a door, he opened the door and walked inside, shutting and locking the door before putting her down and turning on the light. It was a small room, had a bed in one corner, a small fridge, and a bathroom. That was about it, other than random bottles and trash that laid around the small room. It was a place cartel members were allowed to use as a type of safe house.

"You gonna be a good girl and talk rationally or am I going to have to tie you up again?"

She's the cutest mouse ever!

Joker hadn’t seen where he was, she was too busy running. She didn’t even know if he was following her. She couldn’t pull it together enough to think further ahead than run, and run faster. Joker could have kept running until it felt like she was breathing pennies, but he didn’t give her the chance. He crashed into her, somehow managing to get her over his shoulder.

She didn’t go easy.

Joke beat on his back, and bucked trying to get free. Of course Joker wasn’t quiet about being kidnapped either. “You ass-hat put me down! I swear to fuck I’ma put something sharp right in your eye!” Joker yelled as she thrashed and hit him. She was a little bundle of frazzled nerves, emotions, and energy. “I’ve never been real fond of the bodies hanging on the wall around Boulder but I will make you one of them!”

If he’d been someone else these would have been serious threats.

Somehow they felt empty right now.

It didn’t stop her from yelling more threats at him.

When he went through a door Joker tried to keep it open, tried to kick back to stop him. Not that it worked, he still shut and locked the door. He finally put her down and Joker had been ready to tear him a new one except that he spoke first. Joker glared at him, a dagger finding its way to her hand. She held it out in front of her practically snarling, “You are not tying me up!”

“You’re going to let me out of here! I don’t like this place!” Joker shouted at him even as she moved further away instead of closer. “I don’t want to talk! I’ve done enough talking! You’ve done enough talking!” Joker wanted to stamp her foot, but that would have made her feel even more childish. She already felt small, she already felt lost. Joker didn’t want to feel this way and so she wanted to leave so she didn’t have to feel like this.

“I don’t want to talk, or be rational!” Joker growled.

Being irrational was easy.

Being rational was fucking hard. You had to talk about stuff that wasn’t easy. You weren’t supposed to yell or hit.

Joker didn’t want to do those things!

She wanted to be angry!

“You don’t get to suddenly decide to be rational!” Joker yelled, “You didn’t want me! No take backs!”

A knife....Of course there was a knife. Osiris wasn't surprised. In fact he would have been surprised if there wasn't a knife. Osiris looked down at her, his rugged face was blank as he watched her knife out, like a scared girl trying to fend of some type of monster for her life. But the words from her mouth were more like a girl ready to kill just for the fun of it....Well, that was if he didn't think she didn't have it in her to hurt him. Her threats made her more like a Chihuahua, a loud bark, but really she isn't able to do much. Not because she wasn't strong enough, because she was too sweet.... At least...That's what he hopped. He could be wrong, after all, he did only know her for a day, maybe he really did drive her off the edge and she wanted to kill him for it.

Seeing her back up slowly brought him a little comfort, and a lot more confidence. He began stepping towards her slowly as she backed up. He was starting to get irritated. She wasn't a child, and there were things they needed to sort out. And as cute as this pouting freaking out version of Joker was, he needed her to be in adult mode. Listening as she said he didn't want her, how he doesn't get to take her back he smirked as he stepped closer and closer to her, backing her slowly up towards the wall before his large hands reached up and grabbed her small wrist. Pushing her body up against the wall as he twisted her wrist until she dropped the knife. "Listen up little one, You have two options. Either we sit down and talk, or you get tied up and you curse at me and yell, then talk my ear off then we see where it goes like last time..."

His voice was stern, his body pressing up against hers his hands holding onto his wrist roughly kicking the knife away from her with his foot. Looking down at her as his dark eyes pierce hers. He kept himself against her, "Well....which will it be...Little one?" his voice was slightly condescending. He of course didn't look down at her, or anything like that. But it was a technique he had. He wanted her to feel more small, either she would grump and agree to it, or it would piss her off and she would go savage and he would have reason to tie her up. Either way he would get what he wanted, since they were here and in this position, he had already won. Though he still kept on his edge because she was so unpredictable.

JOKER

Joke is sad-mad
show me the way to go home i'm tired and I want to go to bed
Joker had killed, more then she cared to remember, but she didn’t want to kill him. Well deep down she didn’t want to kill him. Right now she was just scared. She was cornered somewhere she didn’t want to be cornered and she was riled up. When he started to come closer Joker held the knife up at a better angle to actually use it. Then he grabbed her and Joker thought through at least twenty things she could have done to at least try to stop him in some way. Joker could do most things with either hand, especially use a knife.

She didn’t do it though.

Any of the things she thought of.

Joker dropped the knife even before it started to hurt. She listened to what he had to say, but she didn’t want either option. She stood there letting him press against her. She glared right up at him, until she grinned.

“What the hell could you possibly want to talk about?” Joker asked pushing at him, still giving him a self-destructive smile. “Tell me! Tell me what you want to say! Tell me how you saved me by leaving me the hell alone! Tell me how leaving me out covered in blood for anybody to find was saving me! Tell me! Tell me Os!”

She could have stopped there.

Well she could have if she was someone else.

Joker just had to push at him. She couldn’t help it. She had to press every button to see if any of them hurt. That’s how you learned the rules. The only rules she didn’t break (usually) were rules that hurt to break, so she had to stomp all over his buttons.

“No wait let me tell you!” Joker yelled at him, actually pressing closer to him. “All I wanted was to play! I figured I might die, but you looked like fun and I couldn’t help but want to have fun! I can play with the best of them! When you see dogs chasing cars and wonder what the hell they’d ever do with it if they caught it, I would figure something the fuck out!” Joker kicked at a bottle that was near them on the floor, sending it flying and shattering against a wall, “I’m not some little thing that needs yer protection! I don’t need saving! I haven’t needed to be saved in a long fucking time because no one has ever done it! I’m no one’s little girl! I’m a god damn savage!

Joke swung at him the best she could, trying to land a punch as she shouted “And I don’t want to talk anymore!”

Osiris has lost his cool!
we can go where we want to A place that they will never find And we can act like we come from out of this world And leave the real one far behind
The Mojave was a dreadful place, a place that turned loving people into murderers and rapist, turned decent meant into savages, and kids into adults much too quickly. With that being said, even with a kid being robbed of their childhood it still didn't change the fact that children were still children, and that would always be a piece of them. The same was for Joker it seemed. She was mature...in her own odd way.. at times, and she could definitely handle herself. And she she was old enough to be an adult, in the old times. But there were parts of her that were still a child, like the desire to play, And the inability too see things when blinded by emotions. As he looked down at her there was a hint of sadness in his eyes as she began to yell at him. He could see it, the child in her. It was like he was looking at his little sister, being forced to grow much too quickly. But she was probably in too much of a blind rage to see that in his eyes.

As she began to press against him he was sure to keep a firm grip on her wrist, so she wouldn't be able to pull free. Feeling her small frame pushing up against his he didn't back down. He stood there sternly as he stared into her eyes, it was like a puppy barking and challenging an actual dog. He stood there quietly letting her ran as she yelled at him. She wanted to 'play'? Is that all it was? Was he just a game to her? no....that couldn't be right...Why the hell would she make such a big deal of him leaving her if she didn't care? But still, the words stung.

Osiris glanced back at the bottle as it shattered against the wall, then his glance went back to her as she began yelling at him once again. Telling him how she didn't need to be saved, what the hell did she mean she didn't need to be saved? His men would have killed her if he hadn't come in and helped her out. As she yelled at him for abandoning her, as she did his blood began to boil, he was getting frustrated at her for he inability to understand where he was coming from, saying that she wasn't a little girl, that she was a savage. He tried to breath. Of course she was a savage, but he cared for her and he wanted to protect her. WHY COULDN'T SHE JUST UNDERSTAND THAT?!

That's when it happened, her small fist slipped out of his grasp and suddenly her fist hit his chin. His face flew to the side, as he stood there for a second as she said she didn't want to talk anymore more. His hand raised quickly and thrust towards her face, his backhand hitting her face roughly before grabbing her shoulder and throwing her down onto the bed and climbing on top of her, his knee pushing into her back. as he pinned her down, reaching underneath the bed he pulled out an old rope and wrapped it around her wrist. Tying her up. "You just don't Fucking understand do you? Do you even know what it means to care enough about someone to want to protect them even if they can fend for themselves? Or is everything a little game to you? Is everything about how much fun you can have before someone finally kills you?

He slowly got off of her and rolled her onto her back, picking her up and throwing her up against the wall on the bed. "Now you are going to have to sit and actually talk instead of throwing a tantrum like a child...

JOKER

Joker is in a sort of countdown
show me the way to go home i'm tired and I want to go to bed
To Joker everything was a game. It was just that some games were more serious than others. It was all a big adventure and maybe that was why Joker was so upset by what had happened. She had been playing this awesome game with him, and then he just ditched out. Playing games was her business, and he just stopped playing.

She knew as soon as her fist collided with his chin that she’d made a bad choice. Not that she would have made a different one, but that didn’t make the choice any better. The back of his hand made contact with her face, which stung but she didn’t just lay down and take it. Joker thrashed even as he threw her down on the bed, and even with his knee in her back. She tried to jerk her hands from his grasp, but he tied her up nonetheless.

Joker heard what he had to say even as she pressed her forehead into the bed. Did she know those things? Yes everything was a game, but he obviously didn’t understand her games. She bit her tongue wanting to answer all his question pointblank but she wasn’t going to talk to someone who had their knee shoved in her back.

She let him move off of her, and stayed compliant when he manhandled her right into the wall the bed was up against. After she was settled she looked right at him. “No I don’t. Why should I know that?” Joker asked starting with his first two questions. “I mean sure it’s super nice when someone has your back, but do you know what it’s like to be a kid an know that ain’t no one going to save your ass?” Then a grin spread across her lips saying, “What am I saying? Of course you do! I never met a raider that didn’t have to do for themselves. I don’t fucking know what it’s like to care that fucking much.”

That was a lie though wasn’t it?

She knew.

There were friends she gave up food for. Friends she’d walk right into battle for. Some fucker she could have pulled a machete on, but didn’t.

She didn’t say that though.

No, she kept on with his questions. “Yes everything is a god damn game, because one day I’m gonna die, and I want to have lived. What does it matter if I wanted to play with you? I wanted to play with you not with them. If everything is a game it’s easier! There’s winning and there’s losing and anything you walk away from is a win.”

Joker closed her eyes on him because she’d kept saying that she didn’t want to talk anymore, but here she was still talking. She let her head knock back against the wall muttering, “Except when you walk all the way fucking back home and everyone thinks you lost. You still won, but it’s a shitty win.” Opening just one eye to look him over Joker mumbled, “Your turn.”

Her breaths were shaky because she didn’t want to be tied up. Joker didn’t like to be tied up. She was sitting and being good, but she didn’t want to. She wanted to cry and yell and demand he let her go, but he wanted to talk. He had about ten minutes until she tried to set herself free. He had about five after that until she started throwing that tantrum he was talking about. Despite what he said Joker could and would throw one despite her current position.

Osiris has lost his cool!
we can go where we want to A place that they will never find And we can act like we come from out of this world And leave the real one far behind
Lies....It was so common it was safer to assume the words coming out of people's mouths were actually lies rather than the truth. Osiris tried not to live this way, he tried to trust people. But that was hard to do, he had tried to give the world so many chances, so many times he tried to trust people, and so many times he was let down... But it was one of the things Osiris learned to deal with, not perfectly. But he learned to read people, that's why he was an arms dealer, that's why he could lead people, because he knew how to read them. And even this mess of craziness that everyone called Joke was even slightly readable. He knew there were people in her life she cared about. So he decided to call her bluff.. Why? Because he was sick of her tantrums acting as if her point was always right. But before he could speak she continued to rattle on about her games once again.

As she spoke of her games it was flattering, but also a jab to the stomach. For some reason it hurt that she would say that she just wanted to 'play' with him. I mean she was right, at first that's what it was for him to...playing.. But then as he laid there and watched as she slept. Something in him knew that she wasn't just a pawn in his game. So that's why he left, and tried to save her life in the process. But to her, that connection was never made. He remained just a pawn it would seem. He didn't really understand what she meant, everyone thinking she lost, but he didn't take the time to try to figure it out. He was too pissed off and had too much to say. Once she said your turn his words jumped out of his mouth as if spewing from a volcano

Is that so? You don't know what it's like? Then maybe I wont let you go. Maybe I'll keep you tied up here and go kill your whole gang... Since none of them matter.."

Osiris's glare was cold and his voice was indifferent as he spoke of killing those she was close to. Since he knew how to read people, he knew also, in part, how to act to send off certain vibes as well. To try to make people feel certain tings. He was planning for this to continue to get her true emotions out. "Well If I knew it was all just a FUCKING GAME then maybe I should have let my men have their way with you that morning. Maybe I shouldn't have stopped them from all the damn 'GAMES' they wanted to play with you. If you wanted to play a fucking game so badly then maybe I should have let you play instead of thinking that maybe you would enjoy living without having to play those fucking 'GAMES'!

The truth was out, no more games, or sneaky words.... He couldn't have helped himself anymore. As he stood there glaring at her with his cold eyes, his knuckles white as they clenched in a fist. he hated what he said. He didn't want to tell her what his men wanted to do to her, he didn't want to make his men look like the monsters they were. He didn't want to sound like some kind of hero. He just wanted to be understood. But now a bigger piece of the truth was on the table, and as she put it 'There are no take backs' .

Osiris's heart was racing, he wanted to throw her around the round and beat her until she understood how much he cared. But that didn't make much sense did it? So he slowly turned around, and punched the wall as hard as he could, creating a crack in the wall braking the wall in in a small crater. He stood there silently, calming himself. He looked back at her and pulled a knife out from his waist and tossed it to her. "Cut yourself loose...." He said in a cold voice as he looked down at her, as pissed of as he was at her right now, he still vowed to live to protect her. "I don't care what you say... I'm here now.. And I'm going to protect you until the day I die... Wither you like it or not...Game or not... You're stuck with me.."

In which Joker says what could possibly be the most infuriating thing yet
show me the way to go home i'm tired and I want to go to bed
Joker watched him impassively as he threatened her gang. She wanted to yell and scream at him, but she also saw that as an empty threat. He couldn’t kill every savage. It just wasn’t practical. At least not in Joker’s mind. She knew what he meant though. Of course she cared. Of course they mattered. She still wanted to yell at him over something like that, so she cared…

It was so hard to stay quiet. She had to bite her lip to stop herself from just yelling back at him. Her canine dug into her lower lip as she glared at him, until he started on about the kinds of games his men would have played with her. Joker knew the kind of games his men would have wanted to play with her. She ducked her head to look at her lap instead of him. She knew well enough that could have ended badly for her. That she probably wouldn’t have even survived the ordeal in the end… or at very least probably wouldn’t have wanted to…

She didn’t look up until she heard the impact of his fist hitting the wall. She didn’t know why he was acting this way. She didn’t understand why he was doing this. She didn’t understand why she was acting like this. Joker certainly didn’t understand when he tossed the knife to her. It landed harmlessly on her lap as he told her to cut herself loose.

It was hard not to stare at him dully, because her hands were tied behind her back, but then he went on to say she was stuck with him. He was going to protect her…

Joker felt like she was being thrown around.

It would have actually been more helpful if he did it for real, instead of just making her feel that way. Then Joker would have known what to do with herself…

Shifting her hips so the knife slid from her lap Joker pulled her legs up to her chest before using the wall to push off of to stand on the bed. The only reason she wasn’t talking was because she was thinking. She had to think. She didn’t know what to say… Well… it was more that Joker didn’t know which thing to say, or potentially yell. Instead she hopped down from the bed before sitting in front of the knife. She got a hold of it and maneuvered it around to cut herself free.

When that was all said and done Joker held onto the knife insisting, “No.”

It was possibly the first to the point thing Joker had ever said in her life.

She wasn’t going to play this game!

He couldn’t make her.

He couldn’t stay.

She wouldn’t let him keep doing this to her.

She didn’t understand these feelings, and she didn’t want to feel them!
